What is characteristic about the area of Shinjuku is its Multi-nationality. There are many care-takers who raise their children with different languages in this area. We are in the process of making relationships with many of these people, too.
Though the contents of our site are in Japanese, we would like you to know about the purpose of this forum as well as the contents we have in this site. This is why we have translated this page into English, Korean, Chinese and French.
Our communication ability using multi-languages might be yet not enough. Although you make contact with us, we may not be able to make replies immediately. However, we believe that we can step closer and closer in order to understand more about each other. Please contact us with email:

"Nursery" is one of the very first "society" for children. It is also true for us mothers and fathers as parents. Shinjuku Forum for Child Care is established in the fall of 1999 with the purpose of discussing about the nursery as an environment for children to grow up. Most of our members are users, pre-users and ex-users of nursery.
We would like this forum to be a place where Nursery users can touch hand in hand and to form a network of care-takers who grow their children in this area.
Our activities are based on the area of Shinjuku. We would talk and discuss about issues on child care, nursery, etc. We would also share and exchange information, produce family events, and participate in local activities.
Approximately 90 members are joining in this forum now. Each of them is feeling free to take part in any of the activities.
We have no relation with any political and/or religious party.
We would like to make a place that nursery users can communicate and exchange information. Once in every two months, we are carrying out an event at various locations in Shinjuku. We would also work on the mailing process of our news letters. Works are done lively through chatting all-the-way. Join us anytime with your kids, too.
There is a mailing list mainly open to the care-takers of children who are interested in the forum.
Busy working mothers and fathers feel free to join in this kind of mailing list. You can make replies only to the topics you are interested in. Approximately 80 members are participating here to have a chat. You are also welcome to join in and share everyday findings, troubles, happy incidents with other members. OB/OGs, pre-mothers and fathers, mothers who are thinking about going out and work... are welcome to the ML.
We have been publishing our news letters and sending them from hand to hand and to the public facilities. By now, 2000 copies of them are sent to the individuals, nursery schools, and other public institutions.
On the news letter, there are articles about nursery and after-school nursery club ("gakudo-hoiku"), episodes contributed from the parents, special reports on the nursery ("nursery expedition"), event guide in Shinjuku, and so on.

This BBS is only for the local residents or commuters in Shinjuku. Deals are carried out without exchanging money. If you have child goods you are not using right now or looking for something that seems not worth buying, then why don't you try Age-Kure BBS. There's also a rent trade until you will have a new baby.
